Stepping out performing arts

Welcome

Stepping Out Performing Arts is more than a school of dance, it is an environment where the passion and dedication of its staff and students echoes throughout the building itself. The studio is a stress free part of our lives where we come to enjoy our successes and achievements. Steppin’ Out strives to foster a love of dance demonstrating this through professional attitudes, punctuality, reliability and responsible care of students.

Home to some of the finest teachers around, Stepping Out Performing Arts provides a retreat where everyone from the casual enthusiast to the aspiring professional can immerse themselves in the exhilaration that is dance. The teachers at Steppin’ Out are all advanced, dedicated, experienced but most of all committed to the highest aspects of dance philosophy.

Our aim is to assist your children in self-awareness, confidence, self discipline, self motivation and self esteem. Each student will have the encouragement needed to develop these vital skills. Safety is also No 1 priority at Steppin’ Out so all children are taught the correct techniques to build on.

Teacher of the Month / Holly Wearn

This is Holly's third year with First Steps and Stepping out Performing Arts and as all her students will see she has an incredible passion for teaching.

She has been dancing all her life and has been blessed to have a wonderful personality to be able to pass on her knowledge to the children of all ages.

Holly is currently taking Jazz, Tap and Ballet classes for school aged children and has a unique gift with our babies doing our specialized preschool classes.

Holly also travels to our Torquay and Newtown studios and is a big part of our First Steps family.

Parents and children that do not have Holly as a teacher also get to meet her as she is part of our office staff. Holly's greatest joy is having the ability to share her knowledge and inspire others.

Senior school student of the month

Ellie Vamvakas

Ellie Vamvakas has been a student at First Steps for a few years. We have watched her develop into a lovely dancer.

Ellie studies ballet and character classes at our Werribee studio. She is a delight to teach, always quite and respectful of others and soaks in the information her teachers pass on.

This year Ellie has been awarded our exam scholarship as she has received the highest score available. Ellie got Honours Plus for her Primary Cross National Character exam held in July.

Well done Ellie it’s a credit to you as you work so hard in class.

Keep up the great work.

Junior school student of the month

Michelle Lee

Michelle is in her second year at First Steps.

It has been an absolute joy to watch Michelle’s development in our Junior program.

She has made leaps and bounds in the past two years and shines in class every week as her confidence has grown to be able to jump, gallop, climb and dance all on her own.

Michelle is a great listener and such a pleasure to have every week.

Well done Michelle.
